The brewery was founded by brothers-in-law Cormac O’Dwyer and Tom Dalton along with their wives Jen and Claire with a view to offering the Irish beer drinker a greater choice in craft beers, with an emphasis on quality, craft and tradition. We now run a small but close team at the brewery and are delighted to introduce them to you here:
The Dungarvan Brewery Team:
Cormac is our Head Brewer and is responsible for the production and running of the brewery. He had been a keen amateur brewer for several years prior to founding the brewery and brings these skills along with his experience as a Production Manager to the business. His beers have won awards at Blas na hEireann, the Brewing Industry International Awards and have featured in many beer writings such as World Atlas of Beer and Craft Beer World – A Guide to Over 350 of the Finest Beers Known to Man.
Claire is Sales and Marketing Director and takes care of the finance and admin, as well as being responsible for the company’s marketing and PR work including hosting events and tastings, brewery tours and staff training. She also manages the brewery’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Tom takes care of international sales and customer relations
Both Tom and Claire qualified as Beer Sommeliers with the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in London in 2014.
Jen works on events and media work, as well as taking care of the company HR management.
Together, all four directors have a great mix of skills and backgrounds to bring to the business and have created a very positive, efficient and cohesive working environment.
Along with the four directors, we currently have two other employees at the brewery:
Steve was our first employee and joined us in 2011. Along with Cormac, Steve takes care of the brewing, bottling and kegging of our beers.
Kiara joined us at the beginning of 2018 and takes care of sales orders and logistics.
