Turning Tide Lemon Wheat Beer
As we turn into the summer months it’s time for a change of pace and style… so, we introduce you to Turning Tide, a refreshing light wheat beer with a pithy lemon tartness.
With the summer months ahead of us, and hopefully plenty of days to enjoy the sea and the outdoors, we wanted to have a beer to accompany this which would be reminiscent of a refreshing clara. So we took a light wheat beer as our starting point and brought it to life with the addition of lemon to brew a zingy thirst quencher for our (hopefully!) many long hot days of summer ahead.
Tasting notes: On the nose this beer has what you would expect of a wheat beer, with a hint of the classic banana and clove combination, but on tasting the biscuity body is perked up with a tangy juiciness which gives way to the tart, refreshing lemon flavours with a soft and full mouthfeel. Light of body, Turning Tide is the perfect accompaniment to a summery day, whether beach or BBQ!
Food Pairing: A versatile beer that will work well with most foods, but especially lighter meats like chicken or lamb, and amazing with seafood. Moules Frites anyone?
Cheese Pairing: This light and effervescent beer works great with softer cheeses, and the lemon-y tartness pairs wonderfully with a soft goats cheese, or try Knockalara’s peppery Dromana sheep’s cheese.
